Anyone that makes good chips?
Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows who would I talk to about a good chip for a b16 in a 92 civic, mildly moded. Cold air intake, vtec controler, full exhaust including header. Will be putting cams in there soon, fuel rail and fpr (aem). Let me know guys, thanks need this asap.

the only good chip IMO is a custom chip made by tuning your car.....anything else is someones best guess at what will work. Every car is different, so using a chip that made XXXwhp on your buddys car doesn't mean squat on your car.
Honestly, i wouldn't waste your time with an aftermarket fuel rail (honda ones support like 400+whp) or an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. I know when i tune cars with adjustable FPR's i always just set them to the stock fuel pressure.
Same with the vtec controller, whats the point if you're going to be using a chip? Let the chip take care of the tuning, sell the vtec controller, they're garbage anyways. Even if all you want to do is change the vtec engagement point, its still garbage. This is b/c if the ecu is set to engage vtec at 5500rpms and you use your vtec controller to engage it at 4500rpms, at 4500rpms when the vtec controller is forcing vtec to engage the ecu will still be on the non-vtec fuel/ignition maps until 5500rpms, so you could very likely be running way too rich or way too lean. Not to mention having vtec engage any earlier than stock is useless and usually results in less power and a slower car.

vtec controllers are garbage and for people who dont know jack about cars and want more power. he is exactly right about running rich/lean (more likely rich). youll burn twice as much fuel and have a ****ty running engine if you **** with your vtec without a tune.
spend the money on a dyno tune, atleast then you know yur engine will be running smoooottthhh
