Exclamation RPM Gauge Problem

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with my RPM gauge. When I turn my car on the needle automatically goes over 1 & 1/2 RMPS and stays there. When I turn the car off, the RPM needle goes back to 0. Does anyone know why this is?

Thanks.

Cause the motors cold its common to run at 500-700 rpms higher than idle.
