Sundown

Swapped gearboxes today. Reused the VSS from the first box on the 2nd. Now I have no speedo. The car threw a CEL after the first shakedown, but when I killed it and tossed in the jumper to nab the code, the light didn't flash. Intrigued I restarted it and went for shakedown number 2. No CEL, but no speedo.

Suggestions?

The car threw the CEL again today. Code 17 - VSS.

The car is ODB I but the gearbox is ODB II, there an issue with the worm gear that drives the VSS??

Suggestions/Ideas?
