Noob Question: Need new brakes
I own a 97 Civic HB. Pretty much all stock except a new JDM GSR motor thanks to TorontoJDM.
So my car has been sitting for about 4 years or so before I bought it. The front brakes started squealing when I stop recently. So, it's time to upgrade my brakes.
I've searched for brakes on here but I'm confused on what I need to do. Some say go to NAPA and just get some brakes, others want performance which is what I want. I've been recommended GSR brakes -- they're bigger and would stop much better.
Few questions regarding this:
1. Can I just go to the WTB forum and ask for GSR brakes? They would fit without my mechanic looking at me stupid?
2. How hard is it to come by these brakes? If they're really hard (no time to search and search) I'll just get brembo brakes.
3. I want to replace everything -- from the front to the rotors in the back. Roughly, how much am I looking at to get a decent stopping system going?

yeah, if you're serious about stopping, I'd get everything GSR including the master cylinder. upgrading just the wheel hardware won't get you much without upgrading the hydraulics... it's a balanced system. so yeah, start with the GSR bits all around. you have a hatch, so the prop valve should be the correct one already.
this will get you decent stopping power. if you want more after that, you'll have more options, like better pads and lines, or a multi-piston caliper system.
