odds sounds when braking

alright
I accelerate fine, corner fine. When braking (medium/hard) I can hear a woo-wooo-woo (like the three stouges) sound coming from the right side.

I think it's my rear drum (which i replaced maybe 5000 Km ago), but am not 100% sure.
Could it be anything else?

I'm going to take it apart in 2 weeks when i get some time.

See if the sound happens when you use your hand break. If it does, you know the problem is with your rear brakes/drums. They could be warped.

I had the same sort of problem when I got my brakes done not too long ago. I had to get my drums replaced a few time. They kept warping no matter what I did. I was not driving the car hard. I got them swapped out for rear rotors and pads, no problems since.

I'm no mechanic but from my experience drums suck. My $0.02.

drums don't suck. big rigs that stop 80,000 lbs payloads use drums. 120 ton presses use drums. what sucks is mechanics who don't know how to maintain drums. they're a pain in the *** to work on and i don't much like working on them, but as a technology they're pretty friggin sweet.

rats..
I think they are warped...

I'm going back to the mechanic who has agreed to look at them. I really hope its simple thing

I HATE rear drums. I can changle pads rotar no problem. The first time i tried to drums I failed horribly. I'll never do a drum job again.

If is turns out to be warped do I need to replace the shoe and the drum again?

just have them turned. I put 2 sets of brand new drums on my DD, and the probelem still presisted, so i had them turned and it was all good. cheap drums are prolly machined while hot, so they can warp while cooling.

I did bring it to a reputable shop. From feedback from other people and even this situation, they seem prone to wrapping. I don't know man, I've never hear of anyone having these kind of problems with rotors.

I agree with B and I don't. You can machine a warped drum, but depending on how badly it is warped, machining will not solve the problem. Sometimes warping is imbedded in the material and will return in a few heat cycles. You can try turning the drum and see if it fixes it, but I wouldn't be surprised if the problem came back.
