volvos have turned crap in quality since Ford got involved (SURPRISE!!!! ) I would not purchase a Volvo, unless it was a turbo brick from the 80s... or even the 60s.

just visit a volvo forum to confirm if you wish.

to me, no amount of style can make up for bad engineering. it's like.... I can shape a dog turd into a diamond.... does that mean it's good

stock turbo cars are highly restricted, isn't it?

i always thought, removing cat, add a bigger turbo, better tuning will yield you incredible gain

usually just a FMIC (if not equipped), bigger exhaust, boost controller and tuning will yeild wicked results (for factory turbo cars).

Most factory turbo cars are restricted quite a bit. Most you can make really good power even with the stock turbo. That 218hp is no where near the max of the turbo or engine's capabilities.

Get a boost controller, bigger injectors, wide-band O2, fmic, and some other simple turbo goodies and your set.

Volvo is doing well actually.. I totally agree that they have had problems when Ford took over, completely depleting the Volvo reputation. The newer Volvo's have increased in not only efficiency and looks, but in quality. Now some of the model's i still would not recommend. Such as the C70 I'm not a huge fan of, it doesn't handle well, and there are minor things such as the drop top roof but overall the engine isn't bad. The new S40's are near flawless, yes you will find a lemon out there, but overall they are an amazing car. The car that had the most issue's is the Volvo S80 when for took over, basically working off a Taurus platform it wasn't built very well. For 2008 the new release of the S80 will be a huge success, It is not only beautiful but will be on an awesome platform.
