Eagle Talon????

I got a chance to see a 93 Eagle Talon a friend of mine wanna sell it to another friend of mine.. it is Turbo AWD version with 123000kms..... everything works perfect and with brand new tires and clutch.. throttle body... and stuff...

it runs perfect and the guy is asking 7000 bucks.. would you go for it for that price.. do you guys know anything bad about it?

My friend is a mechanic and he said he will cover everything on this car for several months on himself... which means we are prety much worry free.. should we go get it?

Thanks.. just wanna share and ask for some help and opinions.. Thanks guys.

Sounds a little on the high side to me.

But if everything is as good as you say it is, it wouldn't be too difficult ot get comfortable with that price.

Here's what the autotrader says

1993 EAGLE TALON.

LOW $3,800.00
MEDIAN $5,699.00
HIGH $6,500.00

i woiuldnt buy a talon personally.... yes theyre quick, but the quality of the car is **** IMO.... my cousin had a 93 and it had maddd problems.... but hey, this one may be good, u never know.
i personally would get a 95 Si with the money.... it maybe slower, but its just a much better, reliable, and IMO, better looking car.

Those car are notorious for problems...

Most need TLC...

I won't start a Chrsyler rant here...

But with a good mechanic a reliable 11 second street machine could be yours...

Again Marco's your guy...

He also works on RX7's....

If I didn't have a kid I'd still have my Talon. It was mad fast and there was endless performance possibilities w/ it. If you do decide to buy it make sure you look at the service records.

The timing belt should have been done at 98,000km. I've been in that situation before where the previous owner didn't do the belt and the damn thing snapped on me at the track. Bent valves and all the usual s&*t that happens when the car was not serviced regularly.

The 93 is a good model b/c it had larger brakes than the previous model. Ask for $6000 for it.

Service wise I only took the car to Marco at Magnus.
He can build you an 11 sec. car no problem.

One of my good friends has one

tranny rebuild...engine changed original ,fried ,cooling system redone. and a few other gremlins . If you can find a good one enjoy but they are notorious for tranny problems

I've also heard a lot of bad things about Talons, specifically the turbo AWD models. It seems the NA models have problems as well, a friend of mine had major tranny problems with his NA Talon. Personally, I wouldn't get one.

Just my 2 cents.

Thumbs down

All I can say is

DON'T BUY CHRYSLER

I cannot state that enough.

Expect many trips to the shop as everything will break especially since the engine has a turbo.

Trust me I use to own one.

If you like headaches and u have cash to burn then chrysler is your kind of company.

just my 2cents

A friend of mine used to have a talon. When he first bought it, it had close to 200,000kms on it. He put another 100,000kms on during the two years he owned it. Although he drove the **** out of it, he had no major problems whatsoever. The key was that he maintained it properly.

But being someone who works on all types of cars for a living, I know which ones are reliable and which ones are lemons.

My advise... don't get yourself a lemon, unless you have the "cash to burn". Of course in the end, it's your decision... choose wisely.
