can someone refer me to a mechanic?

i went to a friend of a friend's mechanic today and it totally flopped. the mechanic just passed me onto his brother who wanted $x for an inspection then go from there when all i wanted was a simple idle adjustment and to have my irratic idle fixed (timing belt most likely needs change).

if anyone knows anyone in brampton, that'd be even better...
