mounting steelies...to balance or not to balance...

This is probably a dumb question, but anyways...
I'll be mounting my steelies on soon. Since I had them on my car last winter, would I need to have them balanced again for this winter or can I just mount them on? There were no problems in terms of vibration the last time I had them on.

if it doesn't vibrate, no need to balance

And it is not free just to get your rims balance, because you are still paying for time and wheel waits. But if you had them on last year, and had NP, then don't worry about it.

Do you mean mount tires onto the steelies, or just take off your current wheels (with tires) and put on the steelies (with tires on from last season)?

If tires never came off the steelies, then no.

^^^ everything that i mount a new tire on a rim, i balance it.. i have had only a couple where it didnt need any weights. but eveytime ive put on at least .5 ounces or more that does effect the ride quality. do u balance light duty truck (f-150, 1500's) tires, u would notice that they need most of the time at least 1 ounce. And another thing Why does it come balanced from factory?

as long as the tires were stored properly, you souldn't have a problem swapping you steelies on. as long as on isn't flat! lol

Since we're on the subject on wheel balancing...does anybody know the going rate $ of taking off a set (4) of tires and putting another set on with mounting and balancing? I heard it was like 50?
