New 07 Coupe EX: Questions about Mods?

Hi there, I'm new here and have recently purchased the 07 Civic EX Coupe. I've just got a few question regarding modifications to the car.

Are modifications of any sort done to my car by myself and not the dealer considered to be voiding the warranty? If so, can the dealer install parts that aren't from Honda and be considered to not be voiding the warranty? (Ie. Having them install Tein Springs.)

I'd really like to install a CF Hood, a new exhaust, and a new lip just for the front bumper (maybe HFP or Mugen possibly? Or another brand if anyone would like to suggest one.)

--> Where can I find those mods?
& Could someone recommend an exhaust that has a stronger sound, but would be relatively soft compared to most mufflers out there? (I've heard the sound produced by the exhaust on the 07 SI. I'd like to have something that sounds only slightly stronger.

Also is it possibly to remove that tiny spoiler in the back? W/o leaving any marks that is. (Has anyone done this and would mind providing some pictures their car w/o that tiny spoiler?)

Thanks for your time! It's greatly appreciated. (Sorry for the double post. I accidently posted this earlier in the exterior/lighting section)

Best think to do, would be go to the dealer ship and ask them what you are able to do to the car that will not void your warranty. I know with Mitsubishi, you are able to do just about what ever you want to the car, just no real engine mods, but the intake you can have. I would talk to them.

you can do some mods if u keep them relatively light. Just dont expect the dealership to cover suspension parts under you warrenty... like new struts, etc. if you do something like lowering the car.

Also keep in mind that dealerships often have quite a few modifications u can do while still maintaining the warranty. For example, there is a honda factory performance lowering kit available. Go to the parts dept. and talk to them.

Ahh alright... Thanks for the insight!

As for my other questions, would you mind pointing me into the direction of where I can obtain a carbon fibre hood? I've tried to search around, but i believe I can't find it for the 07 model.

BattleEndless carries many 06+Civic parts.

As for your warranty, it should only be voided for the specific part you are replacing. For example, if you add a CAI and you hydrolock your engine, Honda will probably not warranty any repairs. Or, if you add an exhaust and your cd player stops working, they should warranty it. They should also have to prove that the added aftermarket part caused the problem.

You should also consider your insurance companies policies with regards to aftermarket parts. Some companies may deny claims if your car has been modified.

So you paid about $400 for this and want it gone? I would see about maybe trading with someone who has a wingless trunk lid in the same colour.

Also some insurance companies will drop you if you have vehicle mods if you tell them or not.

Ah... Thanks a lot for pointing out the relationship w/ mods and insurance.

I'll check out battle endless as you suggested. Thanks!

And about the tiny spoiler, when I asked @ the dealership whether I could get the coupe w/o one, they said it wasn't an option.

The lowest model Civic Coupe doesn't have the small lip spolier. I'll check my EX, but I'm sure its held on with a few small bolts. You could always find someone to trade with.
