Question Painting Header with Ceramic Coating

Well I'm still on my ZC quest, so until I get to buy the engine (spring) I was gonna start looking for parts.
Anyways while the engine is out I wanna add a header as well as a clutch.
But anyways about the header, I called a few places and was told that the best way to go was to buy a normal header (aftermarket) and then have it painted with ceramic coating. I was told that this would be better then buying a header with it already done.
Can anyone confirm this?

Also anyone know a rough idea of how much it'll cost to have it painted with the ceramic coating?

Thanks

You could do it yourself. Check specialty performance shops, or even Crappy Tire. I know they sell high heat header paint. This is something can easily do yourself. 1 or 2 cans is all you'll need. $20 total cost maybe. And since the engine is pulled it's even easier.

If you want more info on ZC's, or just have some questions, check out homemadeturbo.com . Those guys know they're **** on the ZC motor, and boosted ZC's.

Sweet!
Thanks man!
I'm going to go look for the paint in a ceramic coating colour and then I'll pick up the header sometime next week!
Yippee! Ghetto car power!

Just make sure you get some HIGH QUALTY paint. None of that cheap stuff cuz i'm sure it will flake off in no time. I dont think it would be a bad idea to get it done at a shop, that way you can get some kind of guarantee with it too.

no extra gains. the ceramic coating just helps prevent rusting.

No worries I gettin teh best paint I can find!

I was considering having it done at a shop but I can see them charging me like $100.
I mean if I do it myself I can atleast decide how many coats I want (9 anyone? ok maybe like 4 would be good)
Plus i get the satisfaction of knowing I did something myself for my car.
