The fill nut is facing the passenger side, right? So to tighten it, you turn it clockwise. And if we turn this motion 90 degrees, you are really, "pushing" towards the firewall/rear.

So to losen it, you need to pull away.

I am not sure if you were using a rachet or a wrench. Wrench can be confusing at times, a rachet will always work. I use the ones with "L" and "R" on it. When I see "L", it is tightening to me, turning towards your left, clockwise. "R", vice versa.

the drain plug has a fitting for a 3/8" rachet.. put in the ratchet, if its so difficult, give it a whack with a hammer on the handle.. there is no way the bolt is so seized that you can;t get it out.. unless some idiot put locktite on it..

with regards to honda MTF.. the manual specifies you can use regular 10W30 (regular dino oil, NOT synthetic) for the manual transmission, you dont need any special honda fluids

Too bad Honda came out with a service bulletin and said not to use 10w30 and to use Honda MTF

This honda mechanic once recommended that i put in about half a bottle of Lucas manual transmission treatment, and then top it off with 10W30, did it for about 2 years every 3 engine oil changes. It was the smoothest shifting I have ever had in that car.

My manual states that actual engine oil should only be used temporarily.

On another note, Amsoil has some king of a Syncromesh type tranny fluid that I've read really smooths out the shifts.
