Kinda surprising to find out the shell was provided by Leitner Performance Way to go Steve!
I've emailed the teacher to see if they need help getting the engine running. The article mentioned the car wasn't running yet.
Anywas just thought that was a nice article by the star.

Jim Kenzie made a boo boo:
"The engine is the ever-popular Honda B16, which apparently means something to Honda fans. It's a 1.6-litre four cylinder twin-cam 16-valve with V-TEC (variable valve lift with electronic control).
This engine was never sold in North American Civics or Integras, but apparently they are imported from Japan in large numbers."

However that being a 4th Gen would be sporting a 1st Gen JDM B16A with a cable tranny
Which was never sold in North American Civics or Integras.

i think that is pretty sad car..think about it for a second this was a project for a AUTO SHOP CLASS....ok first the car doesn't even run??? what is that??? come on now i think they have there priorities all messed up...i think u should get the motor running before you add nitrous kit and body kit and so on...this is supposed to be a auto class...and there one main project doesn't even run???...that doesn't make any sense to me...

there are different aspects to auto mechanics ... there are body shops ...most of which just fix the body weather the car runs or not ... there are performance shops that will install aftermarket things like a nitrous kit weather the car is running or not .. then there are also Leitner performance that makes sure an engine runs but doesn't need to worry if the back half of the car will rust off (Leitner performance would probably make a recommendation to the custumer in regards to that but some of the lesser engine shops wouldn't care)
there are many areas of the car that need to be fixed to have a well maintained vechile .. so just because an engine isn't running doesn't mean they haven't learned stuff.

i get that point but i mena look at it this way...auto shop class for one main purpose is powertrain suspenion....aspects that make the car move from point a to b....the purpose of automobiles....right now its just a expensive paperwieght..i highly doubt they did a lot of work....it seems the might have swapped teh motor in and maybe attached the bumper and did a whole lot of CHEESE on that rusted out body...but i ain't trying to put any thing down here...but at least get the ****** thing running..

well I remeber high school automotive class ...while there was the drive train push in my class there was also the bodywork portion... fixing dents and stuff .... I sucked at that part of the class but hey it's not just powertrain.

i understand man don't get me wrong looks are part of the car...but the car should at least achieve its main purpose before all else.....thats all i am saying...i mean u can have the nicest lookin car around...but with no motor its just a showpeice
