Urgent opinion needed for newbie!

Hey everyone.....

My Precidia recently blew up and I was looking at a civic.....

I figured what better place to ask opinions then the civic club!

Can anyone please give me insight as to whether this is a good buy or not.....if it is I will finish the deal tonight

Specs:
1995 Civic DX w/ A/C
127,000/KM
Cert & E-test
16" rims with yokohama's
13" rims with snows
car looks new in and out

$7200

What do you think?

check for rust and feel for repairs in the area where the rear quarter meets the rear bumper.

make sure you check carfax for an accident report on the car

otherwise it looks too good to be true - but the price is definitely UP there... but for such a low km vehicle, it might be worth it.

But then agian for $7000-8000 you can get a newer 6th gen hatch with about the same mileage.

It would be a very good buy if that was an SI..

still as long as it hasn't really had any major accidents or major body work done in general I think it's good.

Seems like a good deal. You might also want to get the car checked out by a mechanic that you trust to be sure everything is fine. Is this a private sale or from a dealer? If its private, be sure the buyer gives you the UVIP (Used Vehicle Information Package) for the car.

well, I pulled a carfax report that came back clean - so I went back and checked it again with my dad as an impartial opinion....couldn't seem to find any rust on the wheel wells or in the door jams

guy produced his original bill of sale from last year that shows the timing belt was done @ 105,000/km

the 16" tires are Kuhmo 205/40/15 and he said the snows are yokohama's

It's got an alarm.....

the only thing that caught my eye that bothered me today over last night was on the passenger side front bumper it looks like some stone chips that are causing the clearcoat (?) to come off in a couple spots.....

other than that, if all goes well, I should be defecting from MX3.com to torontocivics.com.........

Long as theres no rust buy it, bumpers can be repainted if it really bugs you, but removing rust is a big job.

check for repaint.. Look around the black mouldings and see if there is any paint on them.. Unless the guy paid BIG money for a paintjob you will find imperfections and know if the thing was repainted..

Just cuz carfax is blank doesn't mean the thing is perfect. My old integra was very close to being written off, but the guy who owned it before me probably knew a tow guy had it towed and never reported it. Car was repainted fine, but the front fendor was from a red teg, door from a blue teg and hood from a black teg. How did I know? cuz 1 1/2 after I bought it I noticed paint peeling.. he had a pretty clean job done but still a big stone chip revealed the true secrets!!! heheh.. hood was black, car was a black pearl with reddish in it.. so hood chips were hard to notice..
