well cant we just make the top of the box like 2 inches smaller then add those 2 inches to the bottom?
I don't see why not. Just if you have a problem w/ angles, make this....two straight cuts of scrap MDF about 1" wide, 12" long. Bolt them together loosely so that you can move it by hand, but it won't go "limp" on it's own (use locking washers to prevent loosening). Drill a hole at the end of each scrap peice and bolt it togeher. Now, press that into the angle that you would like to measure and viola, you can trace that angle out onto the sides of the box. Or you can be ghetto and just stick a right angle in there and measure from the bottom of the seat to the bottom of the right angle (construction square), and that's your triangle. Does that make sense?

LOL, rusty with the old trigonometry are ya? if you need help, I'm always here, or there is this thing...the...ummm...what's it called.....INTERNET, where you can find out lotsa equations, plus the calculator on the computer under accessories can go into scientific mode for those calculations.

As for saws, most newer circular saws feature a pivoting blade, so you can have any angle between straight cut to 45 degrees.
