i dropped mine in the toilet, never worked again after 2 weeks of drying...
I dont know if warrenties cover stuff like that, because they may take apart the phone and check out what might have been wrong and just replace the part.. but anywho, good luck trying!

I recall telling you not to use a blow dryer because the heat will cause more damage ....funny how you don't wanna take the advice of a guy with 4 diplomas in the technology field 2 of them in electronics...I'd make more progress

warranty doesnt cover water damage.
best thing to do is take it to pac mall and get it fixed ASAP.
cuz once the water settles then the **** will turn into rust and then ur fucked.
SO go and quickly fix it.

they'll see more damage in the phone and decide it was the victim of neglate and they'll laugh harder when they bill you for a new phone.... but my words tend to fall on deaf ears....

Well I didn't, my loss in knowledge.

They lent me a loaner phone, the almighty Ericsson A1287D

Is there a reason why the signal bars are full and never to get less than full. Im sorry with two GSM and 1 TDMA, they never seem to get full signal in the house or outside (nearby the area).

yes because there RF signal coverage is weak # of channels doesn't make a diffence since your phone is only ever going to be on one channel unless going through a soft handoff... in ontario bell coverage is the best, my opinion of course is going to be viewed as biased (since I work for bell) but my cell has never had a problem with dropped calls and weak signals. if rogers does have 2 GSM channels and an AMPS channel (TDMA as they call it but it's all the same) then your phone will only be on one channel either the first or second gsm channel or the AMPS channel and you won't nessecary get the strongest signal or the least occupied channel... the system will decide where to put you to best fit in with all the other mobiles...for bell mobility ion downtown toronto we have 4 channels for CDMA and it's all a guessing game as to which of the 4 someone would get there are too many factors.

as for signal bars... well those don't really tell the user anything... and they don't tell the customer service reps anything useful...and the technicans never care about them... if you don't have them there you have no service if you have them there you have service thats all... RF strength measurements are more accurately done on our switch (they are great for tracking) and is the only useful rf measurement.

your phone is done. I used to fix cell phone as my job before this one.

The water screwed up the lcd so that will not work like it did before. The blow drier fried many little chips in that phone. My recommendation is to go return it and say it fell in a puddle.

I doubt they'll cover damage from a fall in a puddle either... water damage is ussually never covered...

just curious since it's been a little while since this event took place... are you doing your own laundry now?

tell them you tried taking out the CR-V without your dad finding out and as you ran into the house after your joy ride it slipped into the snow.

I still don't do laundry and there no need for me to.

Yea I used to work for a Nokia Authorized Service Centre, I had no access to clean the internal components, lets just hope oxidation does not occur! Beside that phone sucked ****, worse than the 3360. Man my 8260 was the best, when I was working I would customize it to the max, White Lights, Battery, Keypad (This was a year ago when it was rare to see such thing)

man the human race gets lazier and lazier with each passing generation ... did you know at your age (15) your parents would have been kicking you out the door and marrying you off in roman times...what would have done then taken the laundry for mommy to do to her villa once a week...

humans are breeding the stupid lazy *** gene into our system ... I say we have a law where lazy people can't bred...(plus I don't want kids )

Its the 21st century, in the 16 and 17th century the average life span of a human was short. This is why 13-16 year olds got married. Thank god we are not in the elizebeathan time, but who wouldnt like to get married ?
