Police surprise Oshawa drag racers

Street racers in Oshawa scattered early Sunday morning when Durham Police pulled up. Police say they were responding to a complaint about fast-and-furious drag action at Thornton Road North and Winchester Road in Oshawa.

The 30-year-old driver of a custom 1974 Chevrolet Vega now faces 13 charges including Racing, Improper Tires and Failing to Apply for a New Permit.

The Chevy's 28-year-old owner also faces an insurance-related charge.

Detectives are still looking for the driver of a black Ford Mustang with a white roof who left when police arrived.

I find it funny that they nailed the older guy driving the oldschool domestic muscle. These guys usually get more lieniency with cops.

I'd rather have old men with lotsa experience racing around town than these little ginos whose pecker gets hard at 80 km/h. The typical teen gets too much adrenaline and thinks his ractive equipped auto Civic is a god damn ground rocket. I say leave the guys alone... lay legitimate charges on kids who street race.
