17s on.
Whats up y'all. Thought I'd drop in and show you my newest mod.
Other:
I am running Yoko A032R, R-compound rubber. I launch at 3000 RPM and have 1/2 foot of rubber behind me and thats all.
... much different than what I could do on dead GSCs.
I am with these 17s.
I am awaiting the red chev logo and the Z28 logo for the middle of the wheels. I'll post both and get your feedback.

I'd leave the wheels sans Z28 and red chevy logo... they look like vette rims now

You don't think:

The hotchkis is a nice peice The solid live rear axle needs all the help it can get j/k
The blank center caps are nice I think... can't see the first pic... I imagine it's the SS or the two crossed flags, right? Either way, I like the blank ones. Keep it simple

That pic shows BMR lower control arms (black), and the panhard rod (red), plus the Eibach springs back there.
Realistically the only thing left is a larger rear-sway bar.
The live axle can be VERY stout on cornering when setup right... the Controller of our company and I learned that Tues when I brought the Zed in.
Have a 35mm front sway bar to replace the 32mm as well.
Dayum live axle on bridge ties though...

Yeah, with help it can be good, but the geometry is still such that rough corners at the track can cause an upset in the balance... and you get on the power too early in a right corner, the right (inside) wheel will just smoke itself helplessly. Unless you got a locker... I hope. But you are well on your way to getting a respectable .90 skidpad I would say... good tires, solid susp setup in the rear. Not sure how much siffer a rear bar I'd want on a RWD car... but if it will help weight transfer enough to plant your tires better, then I just put Falken Azenis on my Civic, and I LOVE it... I went back to 15s though, 17s are big on a civic despite their awesome looks.
I'm looking for 1G skidpad on my Civic.

In my experience with the Racing School, the best handling vehicle I ever drove is almost a tie. The 02 Viper ACR and the S2000.
Both unreal! Miatas can be setup to get some serious cornering as well.
BTW... you make an interesting point with the rear-sway bar. Some flex is needed to make the car less snappy. Good observation.

Well then... your car may handle as well as mine one day j/k... what did you use to measrure your cornering force, just a G-tech? 200 ft skidpad? Those are some really good numbers... is that R compound rubber or street. Cuz I was thinking street in my figure of about .90 I'm really impressed by those numbers. Ya, the S2000 is a sweet handling car. Not much I could do to that car. Prolly just a set of lighweight rims I'd get for it, and I'd call it a day...maybe different brake pads. Miatas are WAAAAY overpriced for like a 1993 car. The early ones have tons of problems with the bottom end.

R-compound.
It is my understanding (I'm sure you already know this), that the G-tech records instand Gs, and not continuous 200 or 300 ft skidpad Gs.
A Camaro with full bolts ons (90% of which I have), with Bilstein shocks can see 1.02Gs on average, with 1.5 degress of negative camber. (this isn't too extreme). This is on street tires.
This same vehicle has since upgraded to R-compound tires and a better posi unit, and estimates 1.1G.
Winston Cup cars, see approx 1.2G, to my understanding.
This is comparing apples to oranges though. The Viper outhandled the S2000 by a small margin, but I liked the S2000s nible feel.
Based on the above experiences with the school, I'd hazard a guess and say in your car 1.0g would feel less than in my 1.0g car, because of the weight difference (for comparison sake lets say we're both at our goals). In any event, it is not NEAR what we will EVER use on the street, as the roads are pure **** in Ontario.
Hopefully we'll both make it out on the race track one day, and get to sample each others projects.

That would be excellent!! I'd love to swap cars for one lap
GT2 class cars see close to 2Gs sometimes... it's quite remarkable... but those are totally reworked inside and out. I just know sometime on Speed Channel they have that digital real time readout on the screen, and the lateral acceleration is what they sometimes display. G-tech pro now has a 2 or 4 accelerometer unit for $249 USD, which I think is capable of reading continous acceleration.
1.5 is pretty decent camber, that's what mine is set at for street use too and 0.07 total toe in.

Sure, it looks good now, but wait a couple years for the Mitsu problems to come out... blown up trannies, cranks wanting to come out of the block...interior falling apart, rims denting... I'll take an STi Scooby any day!!
