2004 VW Golf

I've had a few VW's in the past, but I swore that I would never buy another one. Too expensive to maintain/fix/insure. This car is changing my mind.

Maybe my next car.

Hopefully it's got more Audi A3 under the skin then Golf.

"European models will be equipped with one of four engines: two gasoline engines (one with an output of about 73 hp and the 1.6 FSI with an output of about 114 hp), and two TDI diesels (103 hp or the 2.0-litre four cylinder engine which produces about 138 hp), mated to either a new six-speed manual gearbox, with the option of the direct-shift gearbox (also with six speeds). Four further engines will be launched slightly later, including two FSI units and an SDI diesel.

Suspension in the new Golf is meant to be sporty and comfortable, with the front spring strut suspension layout optimized to ensure accurate directional guidance and stability. At the rear, a new multi-link suspension layout has been developed. Standard features on the new European Golf are the latest ESP electronic stabilisation program and a Brake Assist device, to guarantee maximum stability and retention of the chosen line when cornering and braking."

I'm sure that here we would get the turbo and VR6 eventually. Maybe Jesse knows more.

looks like the U.S. '04 EP with 2 extra doors & VW badging...

I think I'd stick with my EP with the Honda drivetrain over the VW.

simply my opinion (as based on my experience working on VW's)

I like the current VW front end more. Interior looks really nice though. If I had the choice I would rather get a Civic SIR.

Wow! That looks pretty good, but I think that the headlights will take some getting used to.

I prefer the GTI though... 2 doors just looks better in my opinion!

The blue VW pic looks nice. I wish the Civic would come with a Navigation screen.

I'm glad I don't have the navigation system... that way I can get lost with my g/f and go parking... then be the hero and find my way home again.

...or you could keep a map in the glove compartment.

it looks hella sick, I seen it on VWVortex... but I can guarantee you will curse the day you were born if you buy a VW product. I already feel bad for ppl buying the Tourag... why?? Cuz it'll suck when they come out one chilly Feb morning to find the windows rolled down by themselves (which VWs do) and there was a huge blizzard...
