I used to be a VW lover. I had about 5 of them over the years, but as they got newer, they seemed to go down very quickly in reliablity and quality.
The last one I had was a 92 Passat. It was the biggest POS ever. I have a friend that had a mid 96 or so Golf then a 99 Jetta and they were both very problematic.
A brand new one would be covered by the warranty though.

Funny you guys talk about electrical problems with the VWs, because I thought I was just seeing things differently when every once in a while I would see a VW with one of the headlights off. You don't see many Hondas or even GMs with one of the DRLs not working, but yet I saw quite a few VWs with this problem.
