Unhappy I SAY, THE TRUENO

I think the TRUENO/s2000 would win hands down in the 1/4 but it would be close in a circuit race..with the Civic winning by a fender

240 hp, 150 tq and RWD trueno will kill the 220 hp, 150 tq (estimate) FWD Civic in the 1/4 mile

however, on the track, the 2nd Gen. Civic i think has the upper hand, better weight distribution and the drivetrain is probably a better choice..but that's just my opinion

I don't know, the civic is a lighter car than the trueno. I wouldn't bet either way...but the cars are both spectacular!!!

I used to have a 2nd gen Civic hatch It was a 1982 Civic 1500S 5 speed. What a little beast!!! Too bad the prev owner let it rust so badly. I did my best to repair it, had it for two years, but the subframe was beyond help. I miss my hatch

Take into factor, power to weight ratio... The Civic I assume is relatively lighter than the Trueno...

You guys think the Trueno would win? Why? Cause of the extra horsepower the S2000 motor has? 240hp compared to estimated 220hp... Who can get their power to the ground better? I would bet anyday that the Civic would be able to get the power to the ground better than the Trueno.. Simply cause it's RWD.. If you want to look at numbers, look at a Mustang... How many ponies does that beast have? Maybe double what that B20/Vtec would have? What's it's 1/4 mile time? From what I remember, not too much better than a stock Type R...

Not trying to bash anybody for say anything, just pointing out some things I can see that wouldn't necessarily make the Trueno faster.. Trying to put things into perspective for the ones who are blinded by numbers.

These are little things I have to deal with when I race as well.. I race against guys who have way higher dynoed numbers than I do, but I walk right pass them.. Why? power to weight ratio.

But I definitely must comment on both car's uniqueness and creativity. I know what it's like trying to stuff an engine into a that doesn't belong there..

so if i had the same cars, same hp/tq #s but using a FF drivetrain, it will beat an FR drivetrain?!?!

will it really have an advantage? because, i thought it was the other way around, i thought that RWD cars have the upper hand if compared with the same power/weight ratio as a FWD.
I thought this because, it's faster to push something rather than pulling it..

PLEASE EXPLAIN THE ABOVE QUOTE, I WANT TO KNOW MORE..
thanks for the input KS-R!

Generally speaking RWD has the advantage...it's not faster to push, but rather separating the functions that one contact patch has to do has advantages. But before we discuss that, let us talk about weight transfer. As a vehicle rolls off the stop, it produces the highest rates of acceleration, and the weight shifts towards the rear wheels, thus providing greater downforce on the rear tires. The front of the car obviously gets lighter, since weight has shifted to the back. The physics are the same whether FWD or RWD...rear tires always have more weight under acceleration. Braking is the opposite, front has more grip, which is why cars have discs in the front. As for seperate functions...RWD, the rear provides power, the front provides steering. Each has only one user-inputed force acting on it. Thus, more traction is available for each task. FWD has two forces acting on it...steering AND power, so the available grip of the contact patch has to split up the forces and apply them on the same contact area. So really, it's like having half the contact patch. And to top it all off, tire width in the front is limited by the fact that you have to turn the wheels within a very confined space (the wheelwell).
