43 Years Ago Today

A good american president was gunned down on the streets of dallas texas. I wanted to post this up and was waiting for today.

In my opinion, John F. Kennedy was truly one of the most beloved, level headed and forward looking president US has ever had in modern times. For some reason, i have done quiet a bit of research on his his political life, his presidency and his assassination and the events leading to and from that day in dallas.

Most of us know this already but for those who dont, the official verdict was that he was gunned down by a lone assassin named Lee Harvey Oswald from the 6th floor window of the texas school book depository next to the presidential motorcade route.

Over 80% of the americans themselves believe that that was not the case and his assassination was a conspiracy. The official version as portrayed by the warren commission report is nothing but BS and is pure fiction in my opinion.

I think he was a good president cuz he cared for human rights of the black americans, he was not a war mongrel like the current lunatic in the white house and he cared for people in general. He opposed the war in vietnam, he didnt invade cuba when the russian missiles were found and went the diplomatic route, he tried to tone down the capability of the CIA and Pentagon (a.k.a the military industrial complex)..that ultimately pissed off alot of people in washington....all such steps..u can tell why he was killed.

Rest in Peace JFK. America needs a president like you.

Aren't the official documents supposed to be released sometime during the next 10 years or so? 2013 I think.

Mike...you are right. The docs are in the national archives in washington and were locked up for 50 years after the assassination...so that period will end in 2013. Most people involved during his times and later on will be dead anyway so it will continue to be a reasearch interest only for some people.

They are still accessible though if you are a professional journalist or a researcher. 2013 is the time for their public release.

If you remember, Bill Clinton tried to pass a bill back in 91 to have them released sooner...but he couldnt get it thorough congress.
