80's Song Lyric Guessing?!?!?!?!
Alright folks, I KNOW there are a few of us who remember when these songs came out and since I've taken a fall off memory cliff today and popped in a few CDs that I had laying around I figured we'd have a little contest.
I'll throw down the lyrics to some songs and without cheating and finding a lyrics generator see if you can guess them.
Write down the name of the artist, the name of the song and how long it took you to figure it out
Song #1:
99 nights of the year we're super high tech jet fighters
Everyones a Super Hero, Everyones a Captain Kirk
With orders to indentify, to clarify and classify..
Scramble in the summer sky.........
Song #2:
I can't make ya feel what you felt so long ago, I'll let it show
I can't give you back whats been hurt.
Heart aches come and go, and all thats left are the ones
I can't let go.
If we take some time, think it over baby.
Take some time let me know, if you really wanna go.
Song #3:
I used to think maybe you love me, now baby I'm sure
and I just can't wait till the day when you knock on my door
Now everytime I go for the mailbox, gotta hold myself down
Cause I just can't wait till you write me your comin around
Song #4:
The song and dance were never the record machine
I knew he must have been about 17
So big and strong, play my favorite song
and I could tell it wouldn't be long, before he was with me ya me
and I could tell it wouldn't be long, before he was with me ya me
Singing............................
Song #5:
Children behaaaaaaave, thats what they say when we're together
And watch how you plaaaaaaay, they don't understand and so we're
Running just as fast as we can, holding on to one anothers hand Trying to get away into the night and then you put your arms around me and we tumble to the ground and then you say..........
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok that should do for starters.
Regards,
OK

I got a ton more too, I'll throw some up tomorrow unless someone wants to take some 80's songs and test my own knowledge of my favorite era.
Yea, you ARE older than me, by all of 3 years however, I blossomed young

Re: 80's Song Lyric Guessing?!?!?!?!
Alright boys and girls, strap yourselves down for another round of 80's Trivia.
This time we're blasting various styles atcha and this SHOULD be a breeze for all those that were old enough to remember when pinning your jeans was cool, when poofy hair was the in thing and jean jackets with your favorite bands was all the rage!
The 1st song holds a special place in my heart since aside from the name, this was how I grew up. Therefor, with much nostalga, I place it at the head of the pack.
Song #1:
Ricky was a young boy He had a heart of stone
Lived 9 to 5 and worked his Fingers to the bone
Just barely out of school Came from the edge of town
Fought like a switchblade So no one could take him down
He had no money, ooh No good at home
He walked the streets a soldier And he fought the world alone
Now this second song is a dead give away for any child who was old enough to listen to anything in the 80s and understand it.
Song #2:
All the old paintings on the tombs
They do the sand dance don't you know
If they move too quick (oh whey oh)
They're falling down like a domino
All the bazaar men by the Nile
They got the money on a bet
Gold crocodiles (oh whey oh)
They snap their teeth on your cigarette
Song 3 might be a little more difficult for all but the true 80's conaseur!
Song #3:
When the night falls down I wait for you
And you come around And the world's alive
With the sound of kids On the street outside
When you walk into the room
You pull me close and we start to move
And we're spinning with the stars above
And you lift me up in a wave of love...
Song 4 here was done by a popular but obscure artist and again, like Song #3 it might be a lil tricky!
Song #4:
I feel hungry, it's a hunger
That tries to keep a man awake at night
Are you the answer, I shouldn't wonder
When I can feel you wet my appetite
With all the power you're releasing
It isn't safe to walk the city streets alone
Anticipation's running through me
Let's find the keys and turn the engine on.
I can feel you breathe
I can feel your heart beat faster.
Time to slow things down a lil bit here and allow ourselves a moment to reflect on the softer songs of the 80s and how they affected us all. Whether you were grabbin your first piece of *** at the grade school dance or you were still mourning your first breakup with that beautiful girl who you thought was everything.
Song #5:
It's a little past supper time
I'm still out on the porch step sittin' on my behind,
Waiting for you.
Wondrin' if everything's alright,
Moma said,"Come in boy, don't waste your time,"
I said,"I've got time. Well he'll be here soon."
Five years old and talkin' to myself.
Where were you? Where'd ya go? Daddy can't you tell?
---------------------------------------------------------------------
*Sighs* man, some of these songs were just amazing!!!
