Accutane is really really good.. takes about 6 months to cure you 100%.. and after taking Accutane for 6 months.. you will be just about completely cured from getting acne for the rest of your life. I'm not joking. Friends of mine have taken it.. and they've not gotten a single zit since.

Skin specialists can recommend it.

But one major side effect is that it makes you dry up like mad.. say hello to 6 months of chap stick and oil of olay.

accutane is a pill... with nasty side effects... trust me on this. And you can get acne again.
use accutane as a last resort only, and only if it's really, really bad.

i can live with acne,

but anyone know any thing thats gel/cream/foam that will help (no pills)

Anything wtih Salicylic Acid. I heard the clearisel clearstick works well and it has that but I cant find it. I also read this site http://www.acneinfo.org/main.html and the best one has acid but they dont got those at stores

pinky_gurl20 is right!!

Only use accutane as a last resort. I have clients that have used accutane more then once and it is not 100% that you will never get acne/breakouts again.

How old are you ????Im guessing you are a teen. So this might last a couple of years.

First off the spectro gel will help you but it will also dry out your skin, which is not a good thing.
DO NOT use anything that is harsh or that may have major side effects.

What i recommend is...
-facials for you every month and to use something natural on your skin. ( I can hook you up with that )
-Change your pillow case atleast 2-3 times a week
-Wash your skin day and night really well
-NO chocolates
-NO pop
-NO picking

And drink lots and lots of water..

If you have any ?'s then PM me.
I am an esthetician and i deal with this stuff on a regular basis.

I've used accutane and as everyone has posted it DOES dry up your skin. I've even gotten nose bleeds from it. But one positive thing about it is that it DOES clear your skin up. I still do get the occasional zit but it's not as prominent as before.

Yes this should be the LAST resort. Go consult a dermatologist first and see what other options there are for you. There are other pills out there (minocin, erythromycin, tetracycline, etc) that are not as harmful as accutane and many topicals.

I used Benzamycin gel when I was in high school, it has to be perscribed for you from the doctor
i found it worked really well w/ none of the side effects that come from the pills
it does dry your face up a bit, but not too bad
i would just wash my face w/ spectrojel and then b4 i went to sleep at nite i'd but the Benzamycin on my face, after about 2 months (at most) my face was completely cleared up

i'd say if you're really worried about it then go talk to a doctor, since everyone has different types of skin, they can give you all your options and what they think would be the best solution for you

it's not that chocolate and pop cause acne, but poor diet can contribute to it
so it's best to stay away for sugary foods if you're trying to clear your face up
