Advice for a first time traveller

I booked my first vacation today. I'll be travelling Europe between 3 and 4 weeks. The tour is scheduled for 19 days, but I might take a layover flight and stay in either Athens or Amsterdam for an extra week.

My tour starts in London, then goes to, Paris, Lucerne (Switzerland), Munich, Hopfgarten (Austria), Venice, Florence, Rome, Corfu (Greece) and finally Athens.

I will be leaving on September 14.

dude thats cool...

my advice for travelling I'll give you in person...

also from my experience I'd suggest before hand knowing exactly where the Canadian embassy is in each place ... just in case you can never be too careful

what about Portugal? just kidding, anyway make sure you have enough money for the whole trip, cause the europeans take extreme measures when you don't. ive heard many horror stories because of this. never lose your identification either, big trouble there too. both are pretty basic things to remember.
watch soccer games if you like the sport, and drink. i can't stress those two lasts things enough.
have fun man!!!

Europe is amazing...the best!

I spent 5 years studying in London and hardly scratched its surface. There is so much to see, it's mind boggling!

19 days and nine countries. Holy crap. Way too many, IMO. My suggestion: take the city bus tour in each city, then choose what specific sites you'd like to see in detail. Research, research, then more research!

Some musts, IMO: London: Wesminster Abbey, Windsor Castle, Tower of London, Tate Gallery, Titanic Bar . Paris: Louvre, Eifel Tower, Versailles. Munich: BMW Head Office and Factory Tour then hire M5 and drive around Nurburgring Venice: everything!!!. Florence: Uffizi Gallery. Athens: Parthenon.

Before you go, rent or Kazaa 'If its Tuesday, it must be Belgium'. Good movie. Watch it, and then don't do what they do. Too many stops, not enough time.

Great shoes, water, credit card, two tourist stops a day, then an evening fun thing (bar, show, club). Just be prepared to have your mind blown...it is so cool, you may never come back!

Oh , one other thing, James: it is so ******* expensive. Seriously, bank breaking expensive. Factor in the CDN$ and you'll crap. Best just to CC everything, have a blast, and worry about it when you get back....
