while in melbourne go to phillip island to see the penguin parade and also make the road trip up the coast highway to see the 12 apostles for night life in melbourne check out the famous bar "the esplenade hotel" aka the espy. while in sydney check out the sydney tower (short version of cn tower) to get a view of the whole city, manly beach (but its gonna be kinda cold there this time of year, its winter)...Sydney is kinda like Toronto, not all that much to see, they have an aquarium, take a ride on the monorail.

bring warm clothes especially for melbourne, it gets wicked cold there at night and the houses aren't insulated so its freezing!!!

just have fun, when at a bar or restaurant remember, NO TIPPING...they dont tip down under, also tax is already included in all prices so thats cool...I would recommend getting out to surfer's paradise in Gold Coast, thats the place u wanna be...its a party, good food, tons of bars and clubs etc

hmmm...what else, oh yea be ready to not wanna come back to canada

there is no tipping, its not part of the culture...so you go to the bar, get your crown lager (official beer of rugby players) and give them you 6bucks and thats that. Same with dinner at a resty...pay for your meal and drinks and thats that...you also have to realize that minimum wage is age based down there...when you are 18 you are making like $15AUD/hr no matter where you work pretty much unlike here where u get 6.50/to be a waitress/bartender and rely on tips to actually make money.

so 2 dollar drink night at the bar means 2bucks...not 2bucks plus tip, which at the end of the day adds up

sal u are wrong...if u live in the suburbs of smaller cities like perth u will find roo's in your yard eating all you damn grass and ****ting all over your lawn...kinda like deer here in canada...except having green grass is rare in australia cuz it never rains haha.

oh oh also while in melbourne you need to check out federation square...really wicked looking building there and nice parks...I wish I got pictures of that when I was there

if you do end up going to the brisbane/gold coast area be sure to check out steve irwin's zoo...there you can walk amongst, pet and feed kangaroos...and while on the east coast check out byron bay (the most easternly point of the australian mainland)...wicked party scene there too at night. and heck at least u can go swimming if you go to surfers cuz its warm there all year unlike the south (sydney/melbourne) where the ocean is freezing this time of year

do not swim in any canals thats where all the shark attacks happen because they swim in there and can't get out and then they get starving and will snap up anything that moves
