Am I nuts? Turned down $17K

Last weekend when we had the nice weather I finally converted my car to H.I.D. lighting. I finished up on Saturday and decided to take my car out for a drive. I noticed this Cavalier following me for a while. I round the corner and he hammers it thinking that I would do the same. Light after light he does the same. WTF, this guy is a freak. I just drive normally.
Get to my house and pull in the driveway. Guess who's behind me?
I get out of my car and I'm like "can I help you?"
Long story short this guy wants to buy my car! I'm like it's not for sale. He right away offers $17000. Fack off! This is where it gets really wierd! He pulls out $10000 and says I'll give you the rest tomorrow! I decline and asked for his phone # just in case I change my mind.
After a week of thinking about this I don't know if I did the right thing or not? I think I did, what do you guys think? I personally would not believe this if it didn't happen to me!
I think this guy is nuts if he was going to pay that much for my car! Anybody that has seen or knows about my car can vouch that it is in impecable shape with 84K on the motor.
Maybe the kid is a drug dealer or something?
Also I'm really pissed because he knows where I live. FACK!!:fustrated

If I had spent the time and money on my car that you have (which I will) and if you feel the same way about your car that I feel about mine than you did the right thing.
I don't like him knowing where you live either.

Thanks guys! But do you know when you have other things in life that you want to do and you don't think that you'll ever have the time and money to do them? Well I love hondas, but I've also had this thing for mini trucks. I love them as well! FACK I need to win the lottery!!!!!!

Who else has the problem I have, with wanting to slam a Toyota or Nissan truck? Not to mention swap the motor and shave a few things on it? I've got a woody already!

I want a fleet of Hondas, an SUV, and a luxury/ sport car. I know exactly what you are going through but in our cases you can only 1 at a time.

i know what u mean dacquel...el was offered $25000.00 b-4 and he declined it because he loved his car so much...but then he was also thinking that there are other things that you need and the money is good...(it was a kid that want it and his mom was ready to pay).
also if the guy just put on 10,000.00 on the spot...kind of fishy dont u think??

jamie....if this guy has $10000 at his disposal, then he's gotta be a drug dealer or something. I don't what to say....after all the time and long hours you've spent on your car...you really can't put a price tag on it. it is an amazing piece of work...what you've done with your car. it's priceless.

but if you were going to sell it, $17000 is not a bad offer.

Ya $17 000 is a great offer, although I haven't seen your car, but forget the offer..., worry about him knowing where you live. Thieves

I can never sell anything I build, I always end up digusted with whoever gets it if they don't improve it. My humble opinion- Your car looks real nice...I think you would miss it.

exactly.....
i go through life thinking... "if it feels right...do it!"

and if it doesn't feel right....then don't do it.....and when selling YOUR blood sweat and tears...if it didn't feel right.. then it wasn't meant to be

Were they 50's and 100's? Is yes......conterfit for sure. But now that I stop and think about it.....it would be stupid for him to do that.......if they were conterfit, and he ended up buying the car and insuring it, he would be caught for sure.

Who would buy a car with conterfit money, and then insure it?
A crackhead, that's who! LOL

By the way, you can't sell it......it's a celebrity.....look at the club banner.

Look at this interior.
Think of all the hard work that went into doing it, and all the hard work to keep it clean. Think the buyer would keep it that way? NO way! You would just cry if you saw the car all dirty because you sold it, and the owner didn't care to keep it that way.

You did right the right thing in keeping it. So many times I have heard people say, "I should NEVER have sold it.". At least you didn't.
