hitler is not the main reason for the advancements of **** germany.. but he's the main reason they lost the war.. how does that make sense?

i'm not going to read the links now... later on sure... but never have i read about hitler being a coke addict.

hitler made a number of follies... i'm surprised you didn't mention when hitler allowed the allies a few days at the borders inside of france... they had the allies blocked off.. and all they had to do was press and they would have destroyed them all.. taken all of france... but they waited.. and reinforcments for the allies arrived.....

also, what about japan bombing pearl harbour?

there were countless mistakes made on both sides of the war effort.

i'm glad you like to watch movies with your teachers.

don't limit yourself to ww2 if you really are into history...

The fall of the russian czar is pretty interesting.. Rasputin is the man!!! they killed the entire family including the kids to avoid the dynasty coming back in the future.....

anything too old is not documented enough... and full of stories from religious nutcases who rely on 'belief' rather than data.

--------

this has gone totally off topic.. hahaha

Well, because during the war, Hitler became less and less rational. *cough*due to drugs*cough* Since he was the leader, he started to see himself as one of the greatest rulers ever, and started to push his military statagies on the generals, but not listening to their input. Politics are not the same as leading an army. Armies these days are more a political tool than anything, but during an actual war, you need REAL military leaders and Hitler... wasn't. Traditional schooling these days always focuses on "Hitler did this and Hitler did that". Truth is that Hitler likely did very little of any by himself. He was surrounded by like minded individuals that moved the **** machine in a forward direction. Because Hitler was the leader though, he also became the "figure head". People in general need to look to one person for leadership. Truth is, that leadership from government doesn't come from one person. It hasn't for hundreds of years. The shear amount of work that is required is impossible for one person to do. The presidant, the prime minister, etc... are all basically puppets of the party that they represent. (the term puppet may be a bit strong a word, but it's late...) They are voted to leadership of the party by the party. When we vote, even though we are voting for the person, we are really only voting for the party and the individual is just a reflection of said party. Think of it like a football game. Hitler would have been the quarter back. He was good at his job, lead his troops well, but all the thinking and all the plays were still chosen by the coach (generals). Untill the quarterback stopped listening to the coach and started calling his own plays on the field. At that point he started to get whipped like a red-headed step child.

Hitler is no exception to political structure. Though, through the sheer charsima that hitler had made him a very moving speaker and leader who is still loved today in certain circles. Was he a great politician? Yes... maybe even a "political" genious... He was still a bully, an idiot, and addicted to narcotics.
