..Another snowfall brewing for Tuesday..
The snowy winter of 2007 - 2008 continues. Another snowfall is
expected to affect southern Ontario tonight through Tuesday and into
Wednesday for eastern Ontario. The low pressure centre currently
over eastern Kansas is tracking eastward and will start to intensify
this evening. The latest analysis is showing that the low will track
far enough to the south of the Great Lakes to keep the heaviest snow
falls south of the international border. However we should still see
significant amounts of snow just north of the lower Great Lakes with
the heaviest amounts in the St Lawrence Valley. The snow will begin
after midnight over southwestern Ontario and Tuesday morning over
eastern Ontario. Snowfall in the Toronto area may start near the
Tuesday morning commute.
Current indications suggest total amounts of 5 to 10 centimetres of
snow likely for regions near lakes Erie and Ontario with lesser
amounts further north. The Ottawa Valley and the Niagara Peninsula
Should see near 10 to 15 centimetres with the most snow.. Possibly
Near 20 centimetres.. Falling along the St Lawrence river. There is
no longer a risk of freezing rain in the Windsor area.
Environment Canada will continue to monitor this situation closely
and will issue further statements and watches and warnings as
required.
Listen for further statements. Additional information may also be
found by consulting the latest public forecast. The next public
forecast will be issued by 3.30 PM.
