Some additional info.
Eventhough the jobs are contract positions, Toyota needs to hire nearly 3000 people to work at the new plant and cover people leaving the Cambridge plant. I'm told by people who work there that as long as you are a decent worker, they'll keep you. Sure you might get wokred like a dog, but with the overtime, it will be some serious cash.
I applied 2 years ago and finished my last stages of the interview process in February, so it can take a long time. Now I am in the hiring pool for the new plant or the small parts plant Toyota is planning for SImcoe.
Woodstcok is a very small town right where the 403 and 401 converge. Houses are cheap and there is alot of building going on. There is also talk of a huge Casino being built by some US company there.
One of the guys I know that works there got fired from where I work now. That was 3 years ago and now at Toyota he is a Team Leader, which is like a supervisor in one area of the line. He is making $35hr.
