I play drums as well. I have been playing since I was 14. Have 9 piece Pearl Export (2 kicks, 4 rack toms, 2 floor toms) with a lot of cymbals. I will never stop playing.

I play guitar. I started in high school, and never got great, like I'm still playing off tabs. I don't play nearly as much as I'd like to.

See, here's the thing ... I do not have even a single ounce of musical ability or talent in my bones, so I very much admire those who do ... it's like freakin' magic to me .... I was in high school with a couple of guys who were NOT into school, but WERE into music ... together these guys signed Gord Lightfoot (if anyone is old enough to know who that is) before they were out of high school ... and one of them signed U2 the year after graduating grade 12 !!!!!! .... you see this guy on the award shows now, and he's produced 25 albums for U2 .... just amazing ... so much talent!

Cam...are you talking about Daniel Lanois? I thought he was from Hamilton, somewhere in the back of my mind I recall hearing he was...and I know he had connections with U2 and production...just a guess.

I used to lay a mean melody with the trumpet back in school. I was ahead of the class in terms of output, they used to tell me to tone it down lol.

I regret giving it up.

Yeah, Danny Lanois, and his friend Bob Doidge. I remember Danny getting on the school bus and dropping his mickey on the road just as he got on the bus steps. That was Ancaster High School about 1967 .... holy crap, I'm an old guy!!... there's just a ton of musical talent that came out of this area.

I know that Lanois is quite talented in the production circuit, actually even a decent performer, and that he had ties with U2...that's really something that you went to school with him. w00t! for local music trivia.
