Any pearl users?

I'm using a treo 650 right now and love the versatility but I can upgrade to the pearl if i want. Any users have feedback?

Excellent phone, only downside is the suretype keyboard.
The small size is amazing.

If you're going to be using it to email a lot then Id recommend you go with the 8800.

Lots of people get used to the keyboard quickly though, it'll probably take a good week or so though.

Been using it for about 5 months. Rock solid phone, packed with tonnes of features. Keyboard is no sweat, you will get used to it in no time.

Not the first time I've heard that but it's never given me any problems and the applications for it are awesome. The only reason I'm considering the change is to try something new and a little more compact.

I never had a problem with my old Treo (mind you it was a 600 not a 650)...

The Pearl is a great phone, but when I tried it I couldn't get used to the keyboard...

pfft curve is nice but it's big... considering you have a palm tho you don't care about size....

i've had the pearl for about 3 months now and I love it... you get used to the keyboard real fast - just like when txting first came out and it took you a while to get used to the letters on your phone keys... it's even faster than texting on your phone and the suretype is WAAAY more accurate than any sort of crap you have on a cell phone... plus it remembers stuff you type often...

go for the pearl my friend.... any kind of BB smartphone is where i'm staying from now on... once you go there you can't go back... for a NUMBER of reasons

never having a problem with it doesn't change the fact that it's a piece of ****

palm's haven't really changed much in years

its no wonder they're about to go under

P.S. look at the title of the topic

I think this thread is meant for blackberry talk no?

not necessarily

some "newer" blackberry's are just released to incorporate different features over the last model

i.e. some have wifi, others have camera and no wifi, etc.

I've seen a curve already and other than being bigger than the pearl I really don't see the difference in benefits to me.

- full keyboard

- full standard sized headphone jack (you have no idea how important this actually is to consumers)

- bigger and better screen

- better camera

- better multimedia function

- quad-band which means seamless roaming pretty much anywhere in the world

etc etc etc

^^ all those things are cool but the only thing that would really make a difference to me is the screen...

i can handle the keyboard on the pearl it's not the best ever but it beats a regular phone handsdown...

headphone jack i could care less about it's a phone not my mp3 player i use my ipod for that...

screen - nice add on but not worth the increase in size IMO

camera - meh i have two digi cams, wait 3 @ home if you count my moms unless it's random pics i dont' really care about the quality etc...

multimedia - same meh dont' care

quad band - meh i don't roam the world and with rogers overseas' fees even if i could roam i wouldn't... god damn $2+ / minute... rip off and a half...

all depends on what you are going to use it for and how much use you'll get out of it...

for me the size > all those benefits

cuz i like that i can just slip the pearl in my pocket out of its holster and it's not really noticable... regular BB's are HUGE and carrying them without their holster is crap... curve might be better @ that but still... pearl FTW~! lol ...
