Anyone ever lose their cell phone???
Damnit...I think a punk student swiped my cell phone today. I'm soooooo f*#&$ing pissed. I don't know who it was either. Anyhow...I got Rogers to block the sim card... but I feel so screwed. I have 6 months left on my contract, and Rogers is offering me a crap replacement phone for $85.00
OR...I can spend $53.00 to speed up my cell phone upgrade.. or, I can spend $9.99 to get the same old crappy phone I had, motorolla T720 but i'd have to sign up for 3 years.
Not only do I feel I got delivered a blow today...but on top of that, Rogers just tries to squeeze every cent out of you if they can. I hate them with a passion. My other option is to buy out my contract for $120.00 and move on.
I HATE ALL THIS BULL**** ....
anyhow have any suggestions? Other than taking a flame thrower to Rogers cellular?

how old are you? if this is in highschool you can try asking around and see who's selling a cell phone. people can be stupid sometimes and be selling the cell phone in the same place they stole it. i say you just go on with a new phone. don't get the same phone for another 3 years because that's just crap. either that or buy out and go telus! i went telus and couldn't be happier with the coverage area. i used to have black outs all the time with rogers.

Hes a high school teacher if I remember correctly.
I would suggest buying out the contract. Start from scratch with them or another company.
How was it taken? Did you leave it on a desk or something? And someone snatched it?

my Mom had her van broken in to a while ago and only had her cell stolen. and when she told me I called it and talked to the guy who stole it for about 20 mins. he thought he was talking to his friend, but after he figured out it wasnt I guess he trashed the phone cuz it was never on again.
BTW. pay the $120 and get another phone with someone else. Rogers sucks ***.

it's lose lose with cell phones
telus screws you over large
bell has ugly *** phones (sorry jay)
and fido had crap reception, now they're a bit better that they're with rogers..
rogers might be pricey but they've never screwed me over..
everyone has different experiences with different companies stick with the one that doesn't screw you over, cuz when u switch it can end up biting you in the ***...
it was $700 bucks i'd rather have in my pocket instead of over in Quebec at telus headquarters

You might as well spend $89 so your not locked into a 3 year contract.
if you have no desire to use rogers services anymore, visit www.howardforums.com .
Its a forum about cell phones, and people have used one's for sale. (You will realize how much cell phones are sold for, without contracts). They are expensive toys. Trust me, I've been through my fair share of cell phones.
So if you can, I saw spend the $89 dollars.

i say buy out the contract..think of it 120 to buy it out right... if not then u spend 80 bux for a **** phone and then ur monthly bill rolls around at 40-50 bux and thats 120 for the phone and monthly bill right there so ur better off canceling and going with telus start freshh

Wait so, you either pay 85 bucks for a crap replacement phone, or upgrade to a better phone for only 53 bucks? If you pay the 53 bucks are you locked into a contract again? Depending on how you found your service so far, I would either buy out the contract, or just pay whatever to get a cell phone and run out the contract.
Personally, I would probably buy out the rest, buy a used cell phone and go to another carrier and then not be stuck under a contract, I hate contracts :P

pay the 53 bucks...then get a subsized v635, dont leave it out ever...and be on your way...its rather simple really...like so what if you are in a contract, do u plan on changing numbers soon if ever? are u happy with the service (with a t720, i doubt u were...a new 850band phone will solve any issues u had prior)

should get them to re-activate the sim card during school hours then each of your classes get someone to call it... 5 bucks says you find a ringing student

I think he meant 80 bucks for a crappy phone or 53 more for a better one.

ya, I had a similiar scenario when I broke my phone, I had 1 year left on my contract, rogers offered me a x426 for 50 something, or sign another contract (I really didn't want to do that), so I found someone who wanted to take over my contract, and tossed them $30, so they get a shorter contract, no activation fee, and $30....and I bought a used phone and swiched back to fido....amazing service, I get coverage everywhere (on rogers sometimes), and cheaper, and no contract....perfect...
