shows = small venue, stand up only, usually sick mosh pit, general admission 5-25bucks
concerts = large venue (stadium, arena etc), seats, designated mosh area infront of stage, admission $25+
this is simple stuff now man...hardcore shows are by far the sickest, especially the ones in people's houses

GWAR is the best show
I don't know if I agree wtih Matt's comparison of a concert and a show... espeically not the money part....
some of the sickest pits i've been in have been at the warehouse, around $20-$30
the lamest act i've ever seen was eminem at the opera house back in the day. $37.50, and he wasn't even more than 30 minutes. I guess he got better once he started getting more touring under his belt.
i think the festival thing sucks.. seriously.. who can mosh for 8 hours?!
most violent pits i've been in where at Rollins Band.. and a small show in Manhatten.. we got kicked out at the end by the bouncers though. haha

oh man i saw gwar in like 94 and it was krazy!!!! the craziest pit i have ever been in was at a filter show and that was at the opera house!!!! or maybe even rage against the machine the first time they came to toronto with quicksand!!!! lamest show was Jakalope (the edge free concert) where they played 5 songs and sounded like sheee-at!!!Katie is hot though!!!
