anyone got a hookup for any jobs?

Ok its time to swallow my pride.
I've been seeking full-time employment for a few months now without any luck. All the postings and adds i've seen are for jobs through temporary agencies (the devil).
I am looking for full-time employment in and around the hamilton/burlington/oakville area. It doesn't matter what its doing as long as there is some job security.
If anyone has and tips for sucessful job seeking i'm all ears. I've tried, temp agencies, job banks, posting my resumee on all sorts of online job banks (monster, workopolis) without any real sucess.
I hate to do this, but i gotta put food on the table.
Thanks in advance.

Or if you just looking for some monkey work until something better comes along, Home Depot had a big ad in the paper last Saturday.

Homedepot aint a bad place to work...Ive worked a year there...decent pay since its and american company...ez laid back work most of the time. but if your going to go into homedepot....take one advice from me...from Day 1...find about getting a forklift licence.. and try n get one for all the lifts they have....then u've got yourself a stable job with a good pay and a lotta respect. ..
mind u the lisence wont work newhere else other then in homedepots

For the Hamilton area store, but that probably includes Burlington. Summer is coming and they get very busy in the spring.

i've got an in house forklift license from Procter and Gamble...i drove a forklift doing shipping/recieving there for 1.5 years.
But in-house licenses don't count for squat.

60% of job placements aren't through adds, and agencies, and such, they are from connections, start working your connections (which it seems your starting to already)

w0rd.
We just hired someone new.

Only problem is right now we are only hiring on 6 month contract basis'.
So after 6 months you might not have a job again.
Plus it is only part time to start.

BUT.
I made over 33 000$$ last year working part time. (3 or 4 days a week)
So its not too bad.

I know we will be hiring soon too.
Because a few people are leaving right now.

I emailed over 47 potential employers today. I did not look on monster.ca or anything like that. I knew the type of place I wanted to work at, and I just emailed them. Got a couple phone calls already within 1 hour of sending the email. One place wanted me to go to Florida for the whole month of March but I couldn't cuz I gotta finish school. He said to call back in a week to see if he has anything else for me. I'm definetly calling back, and I have a feeling I will be able to get the job.

Flamboro. Spidermans department, the Cage and Coin Dept is usually hiring. Mine, Security maybe once the spring comes around. We are short, but haven't hired anyone for a while. The Casino is also undergoing some renovations, so now might be a good time to apply. For those of you in the GTA, Woodbine might even be looking. The jobs at the Casino are usually not advertised to the public, so its easier just to drop off a resume.
