I am currently interested in this laptop for sale on another forum I visit for buying and selling.

Here is laptop


thats the laptop he is selling, It comes with warranty until december 2005.
He is asking 1100$ So i said 1000$ cash and he said he would take that.
From what he says and assuming hes right, the laptop is in perfect condition so what I am wondering is this a good deal to go for? or should I be buying a brand new laptop to be safe. He has a good rep on the site and people are saying thats a decent price.
If not im thinking of either getting a new apple ibook or something or checking around at computer stores that arent like staples/best buy/futureshop and what not.
any input?

IF the laptop IS in perfect condition...then sounds like a pretty dam good deal too me...go for it

but is it the manufacturer's warranty thats gonna expire in December '05?

Ask him if there was any service done to it. Warranty wise.
If not give him an offer.

yeah, thanks for the help. Apprantly there is nothing wrong and I put in an offer at $1000 so I guess I will see.

yeah, you have to be sure he has still waranty, otherwise pinch a bit of the price

1000 seems like a good price for that laptop. Check to make sure the screen, battery and hard drive are all working perfectly. Battery's will lose its capacity to hold its charge over time. Make sure the screen has no dead pixles, and find out if the hard drive has been replaced.

Oh and check out tigerdirect.ca for deals on laptops. I picked up my T23 from there 4 years back, and my T43 as well.

tigerdirect units are generally factory refurbished thats why they are priced so well

but they are still warrantied the same as a new unit...I like tigerdirect

why would u stay away from big stores... they make little to no money off you.. the reason its more expensive is usually cuz its the newer ****.. you don't find the exact laptop cheaper at some random computer shop..

They also do sell brand new units. Both the IBM's I have purchased from them were brand new.

But yeah, check them out for sure.
