Was anyone listening to 103.5 this morning??

Hey Everyone...while i was on delivery i was listening to Z103.5 when they had a call-in interview with a lady O.P.P. officer (i think thats was she was), anyways, they were talking about the issues of street-racing...

I'm not one who participates in street racing for one, but i have to be honest i have before and kicked myself later for it...we all arent innocent, and thats fine. Im not one to condone street racing either but i have been to the runs in Bridge a few time to check out the scenes...

Now the points that this lady was saying were fairly legit but the one that hit a nerve and really really pissed me off was her stereotypical view that all the street racers out there and all people who drive the "Souped Up Civic" as she said are pretty much all 17-18 years old...This struck a nerve because its total B.S. As many people have seen that street racing has no limit in ages. I mean reasonably, I have seen all aged people racing...men and women, young and old....We have all seen or heard of the situation where a Civic driver lines up with an old man in his 7-series beemer and has a run with him, for example...Anyways, anyone else that heard the interview know what im talking about...

My 0.02 Cents...
Later, Keep the racing off the street...

To the admins...before this street racing scene starts to get really ugly...I say TCC promotes a day at the track (Cayuga or St.Thomas) with the theme being somewhere along the lines of "Getting it off the street" ...

Anyways...time to stop typing...L8R....Mike

ok rant mode on (for one part of your comments)

why does TCC have to spend the cash to have a day at the track ... while it would be fun ... it's totally off the wall crazy prices to reserve a track for that sort of time.....

there are already tons of venues to go to to race, and don't complain about distance try solo 2 races are at the hersey center and the brampton sports center and the bronte go station...just to name a few local venues....

ok so you might not be into corners they might be very very scarey and you might want to try straight lines .... well go to cayuga or other drag strips and enjoy the times they have for running your car...

the only reason street racers don't get into the grassroots motorsports world (solo 1 solo 2 and a few others) is because they like to pick races that they will win. at any of the venues I garentee they will get there asses handed to them the first few times they come out... they don't like to lose so they never give it a try, and they never because of that discover that solo 2 for instance will leave you with a feeling of "wow that was a blast" even if you lose big time and post worse and worse times...

then again it could just be that they don't wanna get up at the crack of dawn to go to these events.

if you wanna get off the streets and have fun in grassroots motorsports you will be welcomed at the events, so try these sites to fine out where events are happening:

www.soloontario.com
www.wiredmotorsports.com
www.hadamotorsport.com

and remember keep it off the streets.

(rant mode off)

Im not saying that we have to rent out the track at Cayuga...Im just saying a cruise or something organized to the track...

It just really pisses me of that if you are within 18-25 years old, Drive a modded car and are male...you are automatically stereotyped as a STREET RACER...this is what bothers me...

yea nothing we can do about it...i mean the cops have there stereotypes about anyone in a modded civic...stock or not...i ould have 10 g's in body work and look wikked but have a cx slow garbage motor they'll still call me a racer...but honestly everyone has gunned it and "raced"...not everyone goes to organized street races...just pigs have there stupid stereotypes and we can't break them...so i just say **** the police....they harrass me everyweek for driving normal but my car is too loud or whateer..
while buddy is doing 180 in a van weaving in and out on the highway......thank you police..to serve and protect eh..
where were they when my car was almost stolen 3 times...what did they do nothing...absolutly nothing.....

I heard the radio this morning...I didn't have a chance to hear the OPP officer but I did hear the guy who called in to brag that he was a street racer in his "Z24" and how he drove 240 on the highways and 190 in RESIDENTIAL areas....all I could do was just shake my head...and think about my insurance rate going up even more because of the stupidity.
