u guys all talking bout trying to gain weight. meanwhile i'm trying to lose 5 lbs. ever since i turned 27, i havent been able to hang onto my 98 lb figure :cry: i'm only 5' so, 2 lbs makes a big diff...there's only so much height for that weight to go...and for girls, it all goes to the lower tummy/hip area, which means not fitting into lots of clothes.
?? I think it's easier for girls (on average). I mean yeah.... if some girl weighed 300 lbs, even if she lost 30, she'd still be HUGE. but for most average girls I think a lil bit of fat is pretty easily hidden. guys I think only notice 15+ lbs of variance either way. ... well I mean as long as its covered with clothes.

I think I can speak for all the older types here - wait until you hit your mid thirties. Then you'll see the pounds pack on! Especially if you are married and have children.....

Back in U, I was constantly 135 - 140. Due to lack of sleep, smoking, drinking and unhealthy eating schedule.

Since I started working, now I weight 155 (roughly 70kg) which is the right propotion for me (180cm & 70kg) but some of it are in my belly area, due to office work, quitted smoking, less drinking, less exercise, on-time sleeping hours and regular eating hours.

i'm hitting the gym like 3 times a week now... i hope i'll get back in shape back down to maybe 140-145 lbs with my 5'9 height......
2 years ago... work out like mad... slim down from 190 to 145 with packs and muscles all over my arms in 5 years! now!!! omg... 2 years of dating... went up from 140 to 170... all fats! excess eating, dining, enjoying... haven't hit the gym... now my gf is complaining where are my muscles... so i'm hitting the gym and swimming all over again... hopefully i'll reach that mark by summer again...... i was stuck at 165 for the whole summer long..... now i'm 160 after 3 weeks of gym...

i hope i can stay with 145 from then on when i reach that goal! HAHAHA

I think that has to be the stupidest thing I have ever read in my entire life. 98 pounds for a 27 year old woman... That is way to skinny, as in unhealthy.

BMI Categories:

Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
Overweight = 25-29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

Your BMI at 98 pounds is 17.

People are crazy. I have a medical condition (type 2 diabetes, and PCOS <fertility probs>) which cause me to gain and loose weight suddenly. Right now I am fat... (still way under 200 lol) but I am happy at about 140

And eating McDonalds and still being skinny does not at all mean your healthy.

Supersize me talked about how he gained weight but more talked about how much his cholesterol went up, and how much his liver was starting to fail...

Things not seen to the eye

BMI is a useless piece of information

all it takes in account is weight, age, and height

it doesn't take in the more important body fat reading

If I'm 6'1" 220lbs rock solid muscle at something stupid like 4% bodyfat...the BMI would say I'm overweight.
