jetstorm... short of a 3sgte swap with a GT4 AWD setup what could they have done to have trumped that?.. i mean a RWD paseo? come on...thats a feat in it's self let alone a 6 shooter...

i have seen people try to squeeze in 20v silver tops adn have a hard time..that was really hard for them..as for stock paseo parts..sterring wheel, dash, some gauges, interior remained stock as did heads and tails, body, and some other parts...

DoubleD, opinion aside... credit where credit is due... the body was all bondo'd up and the welds were ****ty and the decals were tacky...as for the swap..it was truly a "TRANSFORMATION"

Never said it was a bad or crappy conversion, just said I didn't care for it. Next time read the post properly before you start going off on somebody. You assume I thought it was a crappy job. As for the paint job, I liked the colour. That is all I was basically saying.

TT sucks just another stupid ricer show. IN MY OWN VIEW!!!

toyota RWD 6cyl (wtf? not a h with a b16)
Sure it's different. Not something you see everyday like a b16 or b18 swap. thumbs up for making a try. Too bad it was on TT

I watched overhaulin last night. Holly Crap! The Flame paint job on the old school chevy camaro car was the 'cats meow' Just WoW I wished I could remotely afford to do that to my car.

Then I watched the Drifting show. Interesting. Wasn't really into the whole drifting scence, but the show did spark an interest.

With no doubt it was unique. No way would I put down a rear end conversion, the work they did was great or I wouldn't have watched the whole show. Just for some reason, and maybe because they used a truck engine, it just didn't do anything for me in that aspect.

you know guys, there are many cool or unique things one could do in a car. it doesn't make it right

I mean, a V6 F30C Civic would make me go :-\ yikes! Or that S2000 pwrd RWD Civic was also :-\ But that Datsun 510 with the S2000 drivetrain was It's a fine line between stupidity and art. And ultimately, where that line lies depends on who you ask. So let's not argue about it, mmmmmmmmkay?!

You guys watch way too much TV. From 6 to 8, it is only TBS for me. Very Funny!!

As much as I like car shows, I am having a hard time remembering the show times. I just switch to speed channel, hoping to catch a JGTC, Le Man, F1 or Rally battles. If I see NASCAR, I switch channel.

As for the tranformation, that's one helluva job.

when is JGTC on? ive only seen it a couple of times but its never on, they shouldnt call it speed they shopuld call i the nascar channel, considering how much of that crap they show

and the show specifically, i was actually quite impressed with the episode, generally those guys are huge idiots who just follow trends (not to mention their huge ricers) but this time they actually had an originaly and took a **** car and making it unique which i could actually respect, who ever waqs drfiting it at the end was ridiculously bad (so what the dirt paint and graphics package) But overall it gets a thumbs up

JGTC, rarely on. But as winter approaches, I think there will be a lot of rally battle.

Well I saw the F1 battle in Suzuka Circuit couple weeks ago. Battle in rain is just amazing.

personally i watch that tuner crapformation from time to time and really the guys there need some attitude adjustment ... I m not a fan of how much they cut up the car they have to deal with or the cutting up the age of the driver (eg the audi episode..i think the one they put bigger turbos) . Sometimes they are alil too arogant with the stuff they actually produce. SOme things need to have more taste but those guys are old and not necessarily having the passion for the sport like most of ur do; which in my opinion is the problem. Some people have opinions yes on how to build this or that but seriously its the owner who u have to taylor the car around not the builders preference. A builder/ customizer has to feel out the owner and know what they likeby talking to them and make them feel like gold when they receive their car back from the shop... It honestly is the expresion of joy why people build stuff not the money and those dudes do it for the cash.

So lets see do u think surfofopink's "P.kitty" civic suits her well i wonder why ??? could it be the thousand questions i asked her when i built it.. did i enjo buildin her ... u bet i did, and damn i wouldnt mind drivin it even if it is pink LOL

Next project im building right now is to give away tomorrow .. four days of hell i must tell u but u must have a love for doing it for that brief moment u see the expression on their face.. its PRICELESS

even for Prophet s quicky to help a brother out i still eremember his face that was killer hahhaa

my opinions
Nick

I think that they did a great job with the car they had to work with because I know more than anyone by owning one of these that they were not working with much, however I really didn't care for the decals or the bodywork they did. I also think that they did a transformation on a Takoma, not a Paseo. but the show was alright.
B16Civic, if the show makes Johnny look like an AH and he really isn't, then that show is pretty freakin good at doin it. I wanted to knock his teeth through his head when I saw him kick the side panel!

the concept of the swap was great ... however I happen to know for a fact that it wasn't executed well... the car is back with them to try and fix it now....

on a side note Martin that thing has 8 turbos .. not 6 so it would be a octaturbo...

that is what ruined it for me... welds and the decals. this was a cool idea but the finished product was a dogs breakfast. the other thing that ruined it was seeing the host at the end driving it? wet ground... spinning out? come on. it's a "drift car" and he couldn't even show how well it works by actually drifting...

on a side note i have seen the 04' Audi they driving in London. i want to talk to the kid and see what he thinks of the show since they slammed him so much... hehe

That car was crap... and the worst thing about it was the owner had no idea... I don't think that even after they told him it was RWD that it really kicked in as to what they did to the car.

The conversion honestly wasn't that tough... just time consuming. They gutted the car completely... they didn't have to worry about heating or anything... you could do the exact same thing in your Civic as long as you don't mind cutting it to ****, and having no heat/stereo/anything else.

The show itself is pretty much a waste of space if you ask me... that Paseo at the start was cutup to all hell by the masterminds... and buddy was even kicking it at the start!

All it really takes is basic skills and you could do that at home... the whole... designed to be a "drift racer" is full of smack... that suspension isn't setup for ****. Ooooh! Weld a piece of square tubing between your framerails and you'll have the siffest chasis around...

Bah...

As a side note... I think the 22RE is a 4cyl... and the locker they put in the rear is a selectable unit that they use on most of the 4x4 Tacoma's even up to today.
