Anyone work @ FIDO?
I was just wondering if anyone here works at FIDO??
Question: Is it possible to buy a SIM card for my GSM phone from FIDO and use it as a "PAY AS U GO" kinda thingy? Cuz I'm right now with CANTEL ROGERS AT&T and i have a contract with them. Text messaging on ROGERS costs $0.10 each and i usually text overseas to like HK and Philippines so it prob costs more. My cousin was telling me how he's got a FIDO phone and he doesn't get charged for Text Messages overseas.
So i was wondering if it was possible to get a SIM CARD from FIDO and have it as a "pay as u go" thing without having to sign no damn yearly contract???

I don't work at Fido but I 've called tech Support so many times because of their crapppy signal, that I pretty much know what's goin on with them. I am currently on Pay as you go. When you sign up with a new phone they give you a SIM card and you just "Pay as you Go". I'm not sure about the text message thing but I'm pretty sure you do get charged for it being overseas, I think its just the regular 10 cents though.
Hope I helped

I vouch for C-Lo, but he works @ Square One..p/t. Just to answer your Q, you can buy a sim card and pay the one time activation fee and get a fido usable cell and text all you want...Dunno about charges tho....Good Luck~!!

yea my cousin has a fido phone and he tells me that he uses it to text internationally free of charge!!!!
thats why i want a FIDO SIM card for PAY AS U GO so then i only get charged for calling but i wont get charged for texting.
but i was wondering if you would have to sign a contract to get the PAY AS U GO SIM CARD from FIDO or do u just buy one???? Cuz im with ROGERS AT&T and would like to keep my plan. . i'd only be using the FIDO SIM CARD to text or for emergency phone calls.

no you do not have to sign a contract, you just have to buy the sim card and pay the activation fee. if your rogers phone is a gsm phone you can even use the same phone and just change sim cards whenever your ready.

Since your with Rogers... its just Rogers AT&T no more cantel!
I understand what you are trying to do, but I have no idea about it... but i think you need to have your phone unlocked...
as its most likely locked to Rogers...
unless you were crazy enough to get an unlocked phone and stuck it with a rogers contract

Yes i know i can switch between SIM CARDS when ever i feel like since my phone is GSM. . .
And yes my phone is UNLOCKED cuz i bought it in HK and got a ROGERS AT&T SIM CARD. . as soon as i got it, basically the my phone plan is with the SIM CARD i got from ROGERS. .
what i wanna do is get a FIDO SIM CARD as well and switch between ROGERS and FIDO SIM cards. . . I know i can do this. . but what i wanted to know was if i got a SIM CARD from FIDO, would i have to sign up a contract with them too?? Or can i just get a Pay-As-you-Go SIM CARD and walk off after charging up the SIM???
