lately i've been reading a lot of posts that well, start off with good intentions, but a few turn it in to a post ***** thread.
how many posts have you read that the same person has posted 4-5 times in a row in an effort to get thier post count up?
or how many times have you read a post that is nothing more than 5 pages of +1's?
locking them does nothing, because they just move on to the next post and do it there
To be honest with everyone, we look really stupid when other people (guests) login and see these garbage posts. I know this club is more than just post whoring, and we all do it. But some people are taking this to the extreme.
Remember, some people actually have real questions to ask, and they can't get their answer b/c someone would post sumthing SO off topic that the original question gets lost.
So going forward, the thread will remain open, but those "+1" posts will be deleted.
Feel free to PM me if you have a concern about this.

I agree whole heartedly with this.
I would like to consider myself an proud an active member of TCC.
However recently I have found very little content worth my time for me to read and respond to. I am hestitant to open threads only to find myself reading nothing posts.
I am further discouraged when post whoring is perpetuated by certain members of the admin. This only serves to legitimize the continual post whoring on TCC.
I have heard rants about how bandwidth is constantly being used up, and I have read posts where people have bitched about questions that have already been asked before, being asked again. I have heard complaints of the lack of use of the search function. I have heard complaints of how much server space are being used for these repeat posts.
How about considering how much server space is being to store the countless useless post ***** posts.
I make no claims of being 100% innocent, but there are quite a number of people, admin included who's posting behavior should be considered shameless.
So until I see content improve and the childishness of postwhores continue, then I regretfully state that you will see fewer posts from myself.
I think TCC is a joke right now, and I'm sure many of you understand why.

I totally agree with you Jon. 
I still pop by once in a while to see whats happening but when i do, all i see are B.S posts.
So i dont even bother adding any comments.
I am sure that people want to be special with having their own threads but it is kinda annoying clicking through the different topics and nothing interesting to read.

reason being cuz everyone else does it too which pisses me off so why not make it worse so they understand

I agree that post whoring has gone a little over lately. What really bugs me is when people double post! Maybe those should also be deleted as well! Keep up the good work cosmic

cosmic, I agree...I have found myself not posting as much since there is less content to actually reply too...now that I've been around awhile, I don't post ***** much anymore....I feel silly doing it. But in perf/susp, there are so many threads about air intakes it's ridiculous. Perhaps you should start the cleanup there.

I totally agree with there being a problem with whoring on actual threads, but if a thread is started about nothing in general and it goes somewhere is there harm in leaving it open? sometimes it's just fun to talk to the other people online cuz noone EVER uses the chatroom, (most i've ever seen is 4 people there including myself), so posting is the next best thing, and the diff between PM's, ICQ, and MSN is that a bunch of people can talk all at once... like you said i don't think closing threads is the answer, it's educating people! lol sounds dumb i know, but it's still true....

Hey I now I am guilty of it too. But since change in position , I have been forced to change my ways. This rule goes towards everyone. If some people have personal issues with me that is fine . I don't care . at the end of the day I still don't care. Now step down from your pedistal an enter reality . Nobody is perfect and everybody is guilty of it.

Yes, I too have been guilty from time too time in the past..
And have returned back from the darkside...
Why don't we make a "fine" system for members.
This can in turn be collected at meets and deposited into the pizza/coffee fund...
I'm sure BOND007 will have no problem physically enforcing this new rule..
Will the standard
reply be considered whoring?
