putting your hand on the shifter and resting it causes stress on the shift linkage?

yea if your a 800lbs cow that just went to an all you can eat buffet.

i cant see that being true unless you apply alot of pressure on it even then i can see it happening because a linkage doesnt really have play in it unless its messed up in the first place from it going up and down

on the city i always drive with my foot over the clutch and highway i always have it on the footrest and my hand is always on the shifter no matter what

foot beside the clutch on the floor... no rest here, hand on the shifter or cd player, or remote.. the odd time on the wheel
