anyone know what could be causing this? basically any sound comming out of my computer has an echo to it... normally i run the sound through my sterio so i tried my old computer speakers and same thing

what sound card? cuz on my santa cruz it has an effects processor and has echo, warble etc and if u turn that on by mistake all sounds will have that effect

its just a soundblaster 24 bit thing... not the 5.1... but why would these options turn themselves on? pending it can even do that?

no mic or anything... its really weird... i'm listened to some music and its like i'm in a dream land where everything is echoing and what not... then i realize crap i'm still here with my malfunctioning computer

and the echo continues...

the sound card is on my new computer so maybe a month old tops... i've thought about getting a bling bling one there bruno but the only way i can listen to stuff loud is via headphones, since my parents dont share my music interests

one bonus to the echo is when playing racing games cause i get the driving through a tunnel effect

you sure you don't have a 3D effect set on or something.. perhaps the "ECHO" effect? hahahah

No really, new sound cards can add themes.. like auditorium, hall,etc..

look at it's properties Rick..
like i said, the SB comes with software that gives you effects......

or, try removing it (and all relevent software) and let windows re-install JUST the drivers

thats all i did originally was just install drivers though i wonder if something i downloaded like a game or what not could've caused it

i just installed all the cool effects software and its all happy now... although some of the settings are kinda cool
