Bad Mannered Co-workers

I'm sure some of us have had to deal with it. Right now, the guy beside me has the annoying habit of slurping while he drinks, and bringing really crunchy snacks with him to complement his slurping. It's irritating as hell, any suggestions on how to deal with this? I can't stand it anymore, but need a way to get across without insulting him.

Noise cancelling ear protection I have a set of them on my desk if people are doing annoying stuff like that I place them on .. if my boss asks why.. I ussually answer straight saying exactly what my issue it ... and follow that with "I have the ear protection so that I don't distrub anyone else with my feelings on the subject and so that I don't have to be confrontational about it."

at my old job we could smoke at our desk and there was 3 of us at the station and the dude in the middle smoked dumaurier (hate them) and he would just let them smolder in his hand or on the desk and smoke would just billow everywhere...so me and my buddy would signal one another to turn the fan on and blow it at him regardless if it was summer or winter dude got the fan treatment

I've considered taking countermeasures, like maybe I'll start stealing cups and hoarding them in my file cabinet til he runs out...

Perhaps bringing my iPod to work would help out a little, but still, every time I see him lift that cup I'll be playing slurping sounds in my head. It's the worse cause I'm in a nice quiet room, only him and I are in it though!!

There's nothing I'd like better, just gotta wait for him to get another drink...and the waiting game begins....

It's disgusting, cause yesterday while he was slurping I gave him a look, he apologized, tehn stopped slurping. Now it's a new day and the Mother****er started back up again!

Just a few mins ago, he starts up again, crunching, slurping, etc. then goes on speakerphone and talking loudly. Once he got off he started huming and singing to himself, so I just told him straight up, very professionally. I said sir, please, try to make less noise, I;ve noticed when you're drinking and eating, it's very distracting, please keep it down, and he said yea ok. We'll see how long it goes, I'm tired of this and don't wanna tell him for a third time....

We're IT contractors for CIBC, and to free up some space they renovated one of the old meeting rooms and made it into a work room with a few desks and such. There were more people, but they got moved out to another site, so as it is now it's just him and I.

LOL yeah that'd be great, but unfortunately everyone else outside the room would hear the music and I'd be the new distraction
