Did you put in cash, or cheque?

Take the transaction receipt with you, call the bank and give them the transaction number, and the branch location. They will fix it.

call the bank dude they will be able to help you ... if you don't say anything they will most likely pocket the cash

That's good, just call them tomorrow during working hours. Or go to that branch in person.

Ya like what Jay said, gotta hurry on this yo, cause once that gets processed, it all depends on who is dealing with the receivable cause that person can grab the 100 bucks and claim it was 230 cause the system says 230...

Hopefully, they can still track down the envelop with the money inside to prove your story.

either way dude ... lesson should be learned that cheques should be deposited through ATM (where it is checked and you can't pocket the cheque and replace) and cash should be deposited through a teller (because they count it with you there.....)

if you dont do anything ... they will fix it ... like cosmic said, the physical cash in and the amounts registered by the ATM must match

Don't worry about it. I have done it before, and they automatically corrected it. For CIBC, they will actually send you an adjustment statement showing that they've deposited the extra money into your account.

Banks don't need to ripoff money illegally like that when they can do it legally by raping us on exchange rate, charging crazy service charges, etc.

And don't forget the fees for using other banks' ATM's!!!!
I say just to be on the safe side, call up the bank and explain what you did. I wouldn't just wait to see if they adjust it themselves.
