Belt Squeels like a Pig! HELP!

My belt on my car squeels like a pig when the weather's cold. So anyways.. I popped the hood.. and revved it to 2000 rpm from 1000 rpm and then stopped and I already smelt a burning smell. What do you guys think it is caused by? Belt slipping? Belt too loose?
It's been happening for the last 2 months or so.
PLEASE help

you keep complaining about it, but have you taken it back to where it got installed yet??

it's too loose, causing it to slip...end of story..
either get a shorter belt or take off the damn over sized wheel ya put on..running a stereo you shouldn't be using an underdrive pulley anyway..

cut it
and tape it with duct tape, or steal your mom's panties and use that, it works

well it depends which belt, alternator, PS pump, A/C Compressor..

either way, the all have like a tensior bolt that let's your adjust how the unit(PS/ALT/COMP) sits.. clockwise should be tighten..
Look at it and think about how it's works you'll figure it out..
