Both Michael Caine and Steve Martin were brilliant in that movie!

Although it's not necessarily a car movie, another classic car chase scene is the one from The French Connection, starring Gene Hackman.

Along with the movie Bullitt, the car chase sequences are often said to be some of the best in movie history. Hackman actually drove the car at high speeds through uncontrolled traffic and red lights, with a camera in the backseat of the car. No special effects there. It's a treat to watch.

And no, Terry, I didn't see it at the theatre...

I can still hear Michael Caine's voice: "Now, Ruprecht..."

Yes, I remember watching them back-to-back. The stunt driver, Bill Hickman (I had to google, couldn't remember his name, haha) was in both movies.

The man was a genius in that role, undeniably. And some of those fight scenes with Kato...comedy at it's finest.

So true, nobody and I mean NOBODY can duplicate what he did for the pink panther series. Every character was important, even his Chief, especially after a while when he loses it and decides to try and kill him.

The way he pronounced certain words like the telephoooone

Jokes man!

Funny, when something really irritates me, I say I'm getting the Dreyfuss-twitch! Classic.
