if ur serious about business and not just taking it cuz you dont know what you wanna do (like most people, me included) Sheridan was excellent...but what do you plan on doing as a career?

if u wanna open your own business I would recommend the new entrprenuer course sheridan offers, alot of the teachers in those classes are top notch

other than that atleast in sheridan when u graduate you get to keep your laptop they give you...and during the 2-3 years your there you have a laptop to use during class and bring home everynight

business is a boring program so only take it if thats what you wanna do for real

I'm a Sheridam Alumni and crap of course my choice is biased but sheridan has dumped tons of money into the school now, new buildings, residence, repaved parking lots etc etc. I would choose sheridan again if I had to...I've been to 3 colleges total and Sheridan was the top at the end

i think that the fact that teachers are teaching entrepreneurship is a joke.. they have very secure jobs with the governemnt.... being an entrepreneur is all about taking risks and being a teacher couldn't be more safe.. i'm not saying that they don't know alot about it.. but to be an entrepreneur work with one.. sure you could take the course and get brainwashed...

if you are going for business, don't waste your time in a college.
If you got the grades, apply to an university.

Business dipolma is VERY useless nowadays. So are alot of university degrees. If you want to study at a graduate school or an professional designation, YOU NEED an DEGREE as an requirement.

I guess what you dont know is that alot of teachers actually do own and run their own businesses, well atleast my buisiness teachers did...teaching was supplemental income for them work 2-3days/week for like 5hrs/day at the college and the rest of their time they were at their business...I was taught a plethora of valueable information by them and have put forth this knowledge in many business plans and proposals for friends and family

Conestoga College has been rated the college in the province the past 5 yrs in a row.
I'm in marketing and an finishing in 2 weeks.
Prof's know theirs stuff, which is good cause its not all text book stuff (which is good)

TwinBros: You're kinda stuck in the past, while a degree does help, the people that have gone to Uni and now in college (few in my program) say it was a waste of time. guess it depends on what ya took and where.
Not to sound like a hypocrite, but I'm hoping to get into uni this fall. Degree gets me in the door, college keeps me there.

Anyways I went to a job fair in Jan here and the Min. ya needed to even apply was 3 yr diploma.
Anyways if ya wanna know more about the marketing program at Conestoga, PM me and I'll let ya know what I can about it.
Projects are crazy this of year, I wanna pull my hair out!!!

Accredited? As in public?
If ya wanw biz, best schools are Queens and Western, hands down. I hear York and WLU are good too. (atleast it said in Macleans)

as far as colleges for biz, Conestoga, Sheridan and Seneca are good.
I was considering Sheridan over Conestoga, but Sheridan forces you to buy a laptop. (was almost 6k over the 3yrs)

If ya wanna talk to people go for marketing. personally I found accounting too boring and too tedious. Same damn thing over and over, almost drove me insane. If ya wanna be creative take marketing, if you want linear and logic go for accounting.

the laptop from sheridan works out to be around 3grand over the 3years...unless they upped the price since I graduated last year...in the end hey I have a laptop outta tha deal, If I didnt have one those years of school I woulda went insane as some classes were just boring as all hell

I know that sheridan and york are connected so when u finish your 3yr business (marketing, human resources or accounting) programs at sheridan you can go directly to york (if u have a b average) and I believe you get 2nd year standing towards your degree in business.

most of the good schools nowadays are connected to a university or 2 and offer the same kind of "finish here then go there" thing (there is a name for it but I cant remember)

I would really only goto mohawk for the more industrial side of things as thats what they are really good at (mechanical etc) but really in the end its what you take from it cuz its not all gonna be right there in your face "hey this is fun" but if you can take from it what you need to do what you want to do then you will do pretty good for yourself.

P.S. if you want the hottest girls in your school its all about Humber North Campus (good lord!)
