Sony Wega!!!!!
Those things are expensive, but the picture quality is fantastic!!
I think that there was another thread a while back where someone else was looking for a tv too...

Panasonic still makes the best traditional tube-based TVs in my opinion. If you're going for HDTV, hold out until gas plasma TVs become the norm. Projection TVs definitely have the worst quality picture.

yes, projection tvs DO SUCK! it depends how much money u wanna spend and how big of a tv you want! I think the best choice right now would be a flat screen tv! you can get a 32" sony wega for $1300.
but if you want huge get a projection TV which i don't like in any ways! since you can only watch it from right infront of it! and the quality is nowhere near regular flats!

Saturn - where can I find $1,300?
I do like the Wega and have not yet check out nothing, no time. 32" is my number.
Lets talk about longivity. I heard some saleman said flats, you only have to change the bulb or something like that, every 8 years? and Tube TV, you have to buy a new one every 10 years?
Anyone have more info?
Thanks

well apart from having plasma screens being the norm, wait until they resolve the issue of the screen burning out after prolonged periods of use (couch potato syndrome )
anyways, you want nice? Get a B&O TV hahaha but I don't guarantee picture quality to be the best, at least they look pretty LOL

well we just got a 61" samsung DLP tv and yeah I know it's fricken expensive (about 9000 after tax but we got it for 7000 from a dealer friend) but it it's EXTREMELY crisp and has absolutely NO BURN IN!!!! Initially we were gonna buy the Sony Grand Wega LCD but when we swa the quality it just wasn't what we were hoping....I suggest you take a look at the DLP projections they will amaze you. Oh and about projections and having to sit right in front of them to see, with my DLP tv I'm able to look from an angle as great as 150 degrees with clarity

NEVER get Toshiba HDTVs unless you have nothing to do w/ your money. I have one, and the plastic covering is like popping off and stuff cuz the heat from the TV makes the plastic all messed and stuff, and it costs like $2000ish. Sonys are the best, for price and quality. And do not get a HDTV unless you're willing to spend more money every month to get HDTV channels, cuz it does nothing for the quality on basic TV channels

Vanquish: I was thinking of the same thing about the HDTV channels. Good point.
Zenith is that good, what kind of company is it and where are they located?
Also Vega = Wega ? For the Sony of course. I did see a Wega 32" selling for $1,300 at Audio and Video. My 12 yr old TV is getting double images now, can't watch sports - there are twice the amount of players on the court and field. and hockey has double digit goals on my TV.
