... Best Way To Propose An Offer ...

so with this big *** snow storm coming today/tomorrow its lookin like tomorrow is going to be a snow day (Im hopin we get buried to ****) and im lookin to take a pro-active approach to the situation by again requesting to have "system" access from home so that in the event that i cant come in tomorrow that atleast some **** can still get done ... i asked to have this setup at my 1yr review in November.. and was told that more time shoudl be given to have it setup ... how can i convince em that its a must do !

Did they put it in writing at your 1 year review?. Maybe sit down today when they have a minute and ask again and explain your idea, and just give them a friendly reminder that your spoke about this at the time of your review... and see where it goes from there

It's kinda a tough thing I guess to ask for, I know if I asked for it here I think they would laugh, they would tell me I dont live very far and can still make it in...

^^^ I'm sure I could work from home, I could do some filing, and do some of the accounting, but for the most part alot of the stuff I do I can't really take home, and were slow right now b/c we just had month end...

Plus I can't print the cheques that need to go out tomorrow from home lol or sign them..

I sent an email to the president. Within 2 days after that, I was given access to the server and email from home.

Just make up something. I told him that I am falling behind on my work because it is so backed up. I cannot start on any new projects (listed a couple I had in mind).

Once I got my access from home, 2 weeks later, they hired a guy to help me. Guy started yesterday and he has been shadowing me yesterday and today. I just told him to get out of my office and now he is on his computer with the receptionist

i dont plan on being here in 1-2 years.

But yea, I guess he could replace me for less money. I know i'm replaceable. Anyone is.

I hope I get replaced. Gives me more of a reason to start my own thing. I like the employees here to much to leave tho.

Thats good man. I like my job, but I really want to start something on my own. I like taking risks.
